Comrie is a story of two groups coming together. One group is Sarah and her friends who we met in Mistaken Identity. The second is a group of aliens who survived a premeditated attempt to destroy the space ship and its crew. Due to circumstances, only a small portion of the crew survived. Due a lack of a captain and essentially no crew, the ship’s status enters a hibernation status. This status does provide the surviving crew with limited access to the ship. The incident occurred more than a century before the two groups come together.
To solve the lack of crew members, the aliens decide to seek humans to fill the role. Due to differences in inherited traits, they hire human women, as surrogate mothers and men as sperm donors. Initially finding people to fill the roles was difficult, but word got around about the opportunity. Due to this they began receiving offers to assist them in finding candidates. One facilitator had recruited a group that had not worked out. She agreed to find a replacement group. She was in the midst of doing so when she saw Sarah’s group at a business function. So after gaining detailed information on them, she offered them to the aliens with nary a word to Sarah’s group.
Comrie begins with some of Sarah’s friends working at a remote job, with her and another handling the office. While eating lunch, the group consumes a submissive drug. With the facilitator appears and takes control of the group. She leads Sarah and her friends into a semi-trailer. There they are given a series injections containing several substances. Some will alter their body. One is a sedative.
When Sarah and her friends are delivered to the alien representative, the alien is surprised that they are all sleeping. The alien is advised that the group didn’t want to wake up before arriving at their destination. While unusual, the representative accepts the answer and takes control of the group. When the Sarah and her friends arrive at the aliens site on Earth, each are given a complete physical. The medical staff is surprised that none of the group woke up during the physicals. In reviewing the data from the physicals, it is now obvious that the group had been given a series of unauthorized treatments. If they were allowed to go to completion, it would be detrimental to Sarah and her friend's long term health. While they had the medical capability to avoid that, utilizing it had other consequences. After careful consideration, they opt to use their medical knowledge to counter the drugs the group had been given.
Six months later Sarah wakes up to find herself alone in a very comfortable bed. In looking around the room she notices the reflexion of a woman in a mirror and soon realizes that it is her. As she is examining her appearance in the mirror, she notices a note on a near by table. Following the notes instructions she soon learns a bit about their situation. Her friends are fine and will all awaken over the next few days. Like her their appearance has undergone similar changes. As they wake up they discover that their relationship is a much more intimate one than they remembered.
When nearly everyone is up, they meet Amy's Clan, one of the alien’s clans. They soon learn that their hosts are some of the surviving crew members of an alien space ship. The ship is in this solar system due to sabotage and is currently stranded near Mars. During their initial meeting both groups realize that their situation is not quite what either of them thought. Their situation and what has happened to them offers them an opportunity to follow a very different path into the future. By coming together they potentially have a much different destiny. Thus, Sarah and her friends join with the space ship crew in an effort to restore the space ship to operational status. To do this they need more crew members. To do this, they choose to approach those graduating from college who don't have any living family.

No context, almost unreadable.

Could of been a decent read. Storyline could have been good. Actual story missed the mark. There is zero context to set it up, very confusing from the beginning.i_m_nightshade
Author needs an editor that speaks English.

I have only read the Prolog and find it difficult to follow. Words are missing from sentences, 'then' is used for 'when' and so on. I may find this is an anomaly as I read the book, but there is really no excuse for not using an editor, especially when charging for the book.
I owe you a thank you. As a result of your comment I looked closely at the published ebook and was shocked to find many wording errors. While I am reasonably certain that I may have read through some of them, certainly not all. As a result, the book was again proof read several times and appropriate corrections made before publishing the 2nd edition. The second edition used a different approach in converting it to an ePUB. Again thank you for your comment, although I would have liked a much more positive one. ;-) BTW, the free version is rated as nearly an 8 out of a possible 10 by over 240 readers.
