AJ, after getting paid for helping drive a herd of cattle from Texas to Kansas just wanted a drink when he pushed past the sodbuster woman standing timidly outside of the batwing doors of the saloon. But there was trouble inside that saloon and, like usual, he just couldn't manage to stay out of it. That's because a farmer had just bet his own daughter on a rigged hand of cards. AJ called the card cheats on their scam and gunplay erupted. Within ten minutes he was running for his life and passing that same woman again, this time as he spurred his horse hard. The third time he crossed paths with the woman - well - they say the third time's the charm. Together with the woman whose husband he had gotten killed by a stray bullet during the gunfight, AJ fled the pursuit he assumed was coming. To avoid getting hanged for murder he became a sodbuster, himself. The law was, in fact, looking for him, but not to arrest him. The men he'd killed were wanted, dead or alive, and he was due a reward that would change his new family forever.
