T, code named the Combat Wizard, is in Chicago, trying to decide if cetaceans such as dolphins and beluga whales are capable of communicating by telepathy. Ray, his partner, is in Europe, leaving the other espers in the tiny town of Little Dry Creek.
Bill, a troubled young man running away from an incident in his past, is nearly exhausted when he pulls up in front of Max's Cafê. Max, one of the least-experienced espers, offers him a job. And so our story begins.
Libby, the pyrokinetic from earlier in the series, finds Bill fascinating. Unfortunately, so does a rescued street waif who has been taken in hand by a mysterious lady who, astonishingly, seems to have an extraordinary gift where plants are concerned. And both of the young women think Bill is JUST what they've been looking for!
Crooks, a bike-riding rogue wizard, government agents, oh my!
Can Bill master his newly-discovered paranormal abilities in time? Or will the self-named Master of Death prove too strong?
You'll just have to read the book to find out!
