Excellent premise well written with obviously a lot of thought into the technical aspects and enough twists and turns to keep you guessing.. great ending leaving me wanting more

Overall the writing is excellent, with a good mix of drudgery, drama, and humor. The character development is good, human and non-human. The reasoning undertaken seems solid, and the technology revealed is entirely believable and non-magic.
The twist towards the end came as a genuine surprise for me. I was settling into a path ahead that seemed clear but not predictable, and was enjoying how it was playing out. The twist expands the scope significantly and allows for more danger and intrigue. The conclusions turn up the gain on that even more. Shades of the old TV serials. It changes the emphasis from 'how' more towards 'if'.
I like how some answers are provided by inference. There are many unanswered questions. I suspect even unimaginative readers will have a few.
I am keen to see the next book in the series!

Overall it's an easy read, reminds me of the style Western novels are written. I enjoyed it and am eager for the next novel
