Categories: Fiction » Historical » Regency
Format: EPUB
Content Rating: Older than 13
On a rainy spring day, Ellen Trilby appears on Anthony Carter's estate, asking for shelter. She is the daughter of Major George Trilby and his wife Siobhan, both dear friends of Harriet Carter, escaping an unwanted suitor and her spineless stepfather. At odds with the Carters' son Richard at first, they grow together through tragedy and danger, but they must overcome their own insecurities before they can become a couple.
This is a major rewrite of the serial story Ellen, posted first in 2005 on storieonline.net. Readers familiar with the original will notice a completely new plot line in the first eight chapters, and many smaller changes thereafter, all aimed at making the characters more credible. This first part of the Ellen Trilby saga covers the years 1825 to 1830. The sequel, Lady Lambert's Adventures, will appear soon!
