This is a fictional story of a German youth, Dieter Pfeiffer, caught up in World War II. The story begins when the Hitler Jugend paired with Giselle Fischer on the way home from the 1938 Nuremberg Nazi Party Rally. The teen pair are expected to be fruitful and multiply the Aryan race for the upcoming struggle with communism and capitalism. The story follows Dieter from the birth of his son Horst, through his induction into the German army, service in North Africa under Erwin Rommel and his capture and imprisonment in America until the end of the war.
