When 18-year-old Anthony Carter, second mate in his father's small schooner, first meets Harriet Lambert, the young daughter of a Royal Navy admiral, the uncouth young man and the well-bred but snooty young woman annoy each other. Yet, barely surviving a shipwreck, they recognise each other's mettles, and a short-lived romance ensues. Years later, Tony Carter, now a Navy captain himself and Harriet Lambert meet again and rediscover their feelings. Yet, fate interferes again, and Harriet has to marry a noble but despicable man whilst Tony faces the perils of war and of the sea, but also the temptations of beautiful women. It takes tragedy, mortal danger, and some growing up for them to find to each other. A romance set during the Napoleonic Wars.
Book 1 (of 3) in the Anthony Carter Sea Adventures, covering the life of young Anthony Carter from 1797 to 1806.

I can't tell you how many times I've read this story. I have read this at least once a year. Now, I have it in my collection and can't wait for his others in the series. Side note, wish paragraphs are indented so I know where each new paragraphs start and end. I read on a phone and this would greatly help.martin.theo974

The missing follow on in the series

The book is carefully constructed with actual Royal Navy functions as well as use of terms and tools of the Royal Navy. Great compilation blended with historical facts and battles. A lot of research and clever merge with his fictional characters. I note that this is book 1 Where are the rest of the series?
