Apologies to the author for not giving this a review that matches ratings given for many of their other works on SOL. This story has the feel of a first (or very early) effort not revisited later. Please do NOT use this as a barometer of the author's other works. The vast majority of their other writing is superior, even if some of the subject matter of a few may be 'squicky' to some.mhweiss
Nice story -simplistic writing

If I didn't purchase this book I would be a little kinder in my writing. If this was a story on SOL I would probably rate it a 5 . As mentioned in the title it's a fun story, unfortunately, there is very little character development and the story is at best two dimensional. I am used to this genre and accustomed to a young character in his or her early teens acting with the maturity of someone in their mid-thirties. If the vocabulary used wasn't so simplistic it may have been easier to buy in. The story is relatively short, however I was unable to finish it. The best thing about it was the price. My apologies to the author I'm sure in his mind it was a much better story than appeared in print.
