A Dark Shadow hangs over Ancient Oldtown: A Forbidden Blood Magic Scroll
Trouble is brewing in the ancient city of Oldtown. A malevolent scroll filled with forbidden blood magic has surfaced, threatening to unleash chaos.
An unpaid debt forces Lachlan Quinn to leave his carefully ordered life behind. He soon finds himself entangled in a local civil war, threatened by an old enemy thirsting for revenge and watching out for an impetuous hex witch and her crew.
With the odds stacked against him, Lachlan must rely on the unlikeliest of allies: an orphaned goblin, a beautiful assassin and a motley gang of young cutpurses who call Oldtown home. Together, they embark on a perilous quest to locate the sinister scroll before its wielder uses it and plunges Oldtown into chaos.
Join Lachlan Quinn as he races against time, battling daemons and hexes in a quest to save Oldtown. Will he succeed, or will the shadows of his past finally consume him?

Very Worth The Price

The second in a series of stories that now has me impatiently awaiting the third. Well written, and stimulating. The characters are well thought out, and intriguing. The story lines follow normal convention of the genre only slightly. It leaves the reader interested, and wanting. I can't wait for the next installment.

Like the first book, this is tightly woven with plenty of unexpected twists. There's also plenty of depth in the world built that you know there's so much more to these characters.

great read.

intricate story lines and relatable characters

Thoroughly enjoyable. I love the mixing of elements of faerie and, hell, not quite sure what. Somehow your characters are irredeemable hard and brutal yet sympathetic. wonderful

Tolkien-level world-building

Reviewed it on December 3, 2023

Usually a second book is a let-down, but "Keeper and the Dragons" expands the amalgam of Fantasy world and our reality at a level of Tolkien's world-building, at the same time advancing the character development of the protagonists. Can't wait for the Third book.

Another great read in the Keeper narrative.

Very much enjoyed this sequel. The juxtaposition of magical worlds with modern day society (Seattle and WA in this case) is much fun. The character development was quite good IMHO.

Fascinating Story and Worldbuilding

Reviewed it on November 15, 2023

Peter's books remind me of reading Stephen King's early novels as a youth. I read this book in one sitting. I could not put it down. The author does an admirable job teasing a rich world, below the surface of what we are allowed see, in the best traditions of storytelling. The challenge is maintaining that satisfaction as more is revealed. About the worst thing I can say is the end of the book felt a little rushed. I look forward to purchasing Book III.
