A sociology professor at a well-respected New York City college becomes embroiled in a sordid trial and discovers bad luck firsthand. In a series of unfortunate events, things get worse, then better, then worse, then better, and, wait for it . . . then worse. There are rules against professors and students fraternizing and for good reason, as our protagonist (the lead character, not necessarily all good!) lets carnal urges control his behavior, ultimately leading to some plain bad luck, and then worse luck. Still, there's hope, until the antagonist leads him down a path of self-destruction. Yet, there's still a shred of hope for normalcy, until once again, the monster (not a real monster) awakens. Plenty of adventure and eroticism for all.
