Enjoyable read. Jumps around a bit at the beginning. I definitely wouldn't have minded more background on Cosimo and what he sees and gets into at the clubs.pencek

I’d read the first few books on SOL and enjoyed them. I was (and still am) impatient for more. This book combines the first volumes, completes ‘The Season’ and then delves into the history of the empire. I eagerly await Book 2.
