What a fantastic story! Literally could not stop reading until the end. If you want a feel good story in today's messed up world - you cannot go wrong with Jeff Knox and gang. See what YOU think?

Absolutely superb . . . bring a handkerchief

Just a gem. Admittedly, it hit very close to home in a few of places. When Jeff hit the DZ at Palmerola during GOLDEN PHEASANT (and, yeah, it was like concrete), I was on the ground half way into a year on the Joint Task Force Bravo staff and 12 years into a 30-year Infantry career. I met two of my future commanders there during that event when their Blackhawk ran out of airspeed and altitude and we medevac'd them to our hospital at Soto Cano. He got the nuances of that little kabuki dance perfectly in a handful of sentences. There are a lot of moments in this book that are simply . . . real. If you've lost buddies, seen truly horrible things happen to innocents, shepherded a love'd one from this life to the next, it's all here and it all hurts, and it's all beautiful. And, yeah, I teared up . . . a lot. Can't wait to start the next iteration in this series.
