Photo Finish Book 2
1966-67 was a pivotal year for Nate Hart. His family was uprooted from an unspectacular life in Chicago so his mother could begin her new career as a Methodist Minister in Tenbrook, a small northwestern Illinois town at the edge of the world. But Nate learned to find his place in this new town, upsetting a few community standards where racism and veteran care were at issue. Now, ready to start his second year in the town and senior year in high school, Nate has a girlfriend or two, a studio for his photography, and a blossoming business. And the responsibilities that come with turning eighteen in 1967, as the Vietnam War ramps up under President Johnson and Secretary McNamara.

A Supurb Coming of Age in the 60's Story
Reviewed it on March 13, 2023
The book takes place at the junction of rural and urban and in one of the most tempestuous times in modern America. The story is told from the main protagonist’s point of view and revolves around a plethera of issues causing turbulence in his life.
Some of his problems are typically teanage and mundane, some are unexpected and very adult in their complexity. The author addresses and weaves them all into a very good story with well thought out and logical character and plot development as yhe main an supporting characters move from being a typical teen to the cusp of true adulthood.

Good story flow

It is a good book, but the first book had me more involved in the plot. In this book, I admit I skipped parts of pages as I read because the story did not draw me in as much. I hope the third book gets more story based.
