Nate Hart, class of 1968, has just been uprooted from his lifelong home in Chicago by his mother’s new career: Methodist minister. Moving to a small town in northwestern Illinois just before his junior year in high school, is going to mean starting over in life. But Nate’s passion for photography will lead him to other passions as he becomes his new school’s official photographer. It seems the girls in his school think it’s okay to expose themselves more than current standards would allow, because he’s just the photographer. Sort of the 1966 version of a selfie-stick. No one else will see their naughty photos, right?
What Nate sees in the full frame of his photographs, however, will change the town. It involves a racist cop, a town hero, a motorcycle gang, and a series of petty thefts and vandalism. And maybe a couple of naked girls.

Time and Money Well Spent

Definitely among my all time favourites. A truly compulsive read which is slightly more "realistic" than some of the author's other works but still an idealized version of the Coming of Age that the majority of us were unable to enjoy in reality. Devon Layne is an expert at creating a protagonist who is likeable enough that we can follow their adventures vicariously without having envy morph into contempt

In fact the only regret I have over the purchase of this book is the time I will have to wait for it's continuation. One advantage of the serial format is that it lets you spread your enjoyment out over a longer time period but you also run into the issue of "trust". I have started reading an untold number of epic stories that were never finished or were stretched out and neglected so long that I lost interest. I trust Mr. Layne but I still hope that he is hale and healthy and will be for many years to come so that I can get to the end of this saga :)

I couldn’t put this down!

Those who’ve previously read Devon Layne already know he’s a tremendous writer. I’m a long term fan and reader. Today I need to start doing tasks I’ve put off while reading Full Frame. Devon really writes interesting characters and coming to age stories. His main characters typically are of exceptional character. GREAT read! Looking forward to Shutter Speed!

only start reading when you have enough time

After downloading Full Frame, I read it like I was in a hypnotic trance, plus Shutter Speed and Exposure on Patreon non-stop afterwards. Now I have to wake up, do a few neglected vital things and practice patience from Sunday to Sunday.

Another great read by a very talented author. I don't have a lot of money to spend on books but Devon Layne is well worth it.
Thank you Devon.
