Of the 4 Mayhem series, this is my favorite

Reviewed it on February 28, 2026

First, I am glad to see Colt45 present in the ZBookStore; he has long been a favorite of mine. His stories are interesting and you get to really like the characters present. In this, the fourth in the Mayhem series, we are introduced to Major/Captain Leforge, an American ex-officer, who is given the task of guarding a celtic singing group, Irish Mist. Over the course of the story, we see Major Leforge grow his own harem of four of the five Irish Mist singers. You cannot help but like Major Leforge and the women that he attracts. This is a person who has a strong sense of right and wrong and is willing to protect those that he is assigned to protect. As with the Mayhem series, major characters from the other stories periodically pop up and make their presence felt.

Overall, this is a nice, light story. It lacks some of the heaviness of other authors (e.g., Peter Argonis) but it is a simple HEA story that will appeal to the romantics amongst the readers.

If there is one concern that I have about this series is that the four stories do not adequately complete the story arc. For those of you who will read this story, there is the unfulfilled story of "Mike." One of these days, I do hope that Colt45 will pick up his/her pen again and really finish this arc.

Aside from that small concern, this is a very good story. Highly recommended.
