Jason comes from literally nothing to being able to help others to overcome all obstacles and succeed.

Life skills

Reviewed it on October 19, 2025

Perceptive and accurate in explaining the life skills young adults are struggling with today. As a teacher I tried to teach students how to learn using essential study skills that can be applied in any future context where learning is required or desired. I wished I could have included the life skills you so eloquently explained and demonstrated using worked examples to ensure clarity and understanding. Outstanding.

Extraordinary

Reviewed it on October 15, 2025

An unusual intellectual AND compelling novella about a challenged protagonist who turns his life around and shows the way to others. Unique in explaining intellectual methods and applications in real life situations while maintaining a briskly paced story line. This is a realistic and heart warming story.

An Intellectual Tour de Force!

Reviewed it on October 12, 2025

Definitely one of the most intellectually stimulating fictional books I have read in a very long time! And one that can be read by almost all readers of any age —- definitely from young readers 12 and up; to old farts like me! Hats off to to Peter for blessing us with this great literary work!

I'm sitting here with a headache from reading this in one day, and somehow I still wish it hadn't ended. Another masterwork, as expected.

This book is too short

I think this books ending begs for a part 2, and beyond. The only thing I didn't care for about this story was that it ended.

Every one of Peter Young's books are worth every minute reading

Reviewed it on October 10, 2025

There's not too many writers or authors I'd say those words about, but Peter Young is one where I do say that - and mean every word of it. His plots are interesting and realistic, and he does weave worlds that the theater of the mind completely accepts - even if there may just be an occasional "glitch in the Matrix". He's good enough that even when a good story ends, you don't always thirst for more insatiably - there's enough meat on the bone to quench that kind of hunger throughout the story. It's a talent that certainly not all writers master. Like in this one, the story ends with a satisfying, but completely implied "...and they went on to figure things out." (note: not the sappier and way more unrealistic "...and they lived happily ever after.").

engrossing

entirely engrossing, from someone who would normally read action, sci-fi or murder mystery stories, this story captivated me and kept me engaged for the entirety of the story, shame it ended. Maybe a sequel, or two in the making perhaps?

This guy is good! And so is this book!

Reviewed it on October 6, 2025

Well, I was hoping for something good: I've read the other books posted on this site. I wasn't disappointed. At various points, I thought I was reading something by Heinlein. The characters were rich and well-developed, the plot pacing was good, and I really liked the character. Also, I wish I could have lived in this world for a bit: I liked what this character was teaching and wish I had learned it earlier. Buy this book and tell your friends about this author!

I am a Reader, always have been and always will be. I currently have over 5000 books on my tablet. I am saying this so that you understand that I know books fairly well. This is one of the best book I have ever read!!!! The characters have depth and the story pulls at you like few others I have read. On top of that there are lessons that I wish I had learned as teenager. Definitely one of the best you will ever read.

Like Young's other character books, it is not-put-it-downable.

Reviewed it on October 6, 2025

I usually have not very good at catching grammatical errors. Lately, they have started to pop out. Or, the author thinks it is necessary to have a graphic sex scene twice every day. I saw no errors. That doesn't mean there aren't any, it only means the quality of the story is such that all but those who read specifically to catch them won't see them for the story. If you are looking for a stroke book, you came to the wrong place. If you are looking a fun read, you came to the right place.

I wish I had this boo when I was in about grade 7. While I have done OK and retired now. I could have had an actual plan and a direction in life. This book for be read by students in grade 7 or 8. So many see themselves trapped with no future. The prose shows you can have a future. Excellent book.

Complex

Realistically complex. It makes you think about your own educational experience. The author built the background to make it believable and didn't rush the conclusion. Intelligent dialogue and reasonable responses made the story very readable. Great storytelling!
