About
Charles Fornau (1954-?) was born in Kansas to a carpenter and a housewife, both of humble means. Starting life there, he moved to Colorado, Missouri, Oregon, Manitoba, Canada, California, and back to Colorado. He enlisted in the Air Force right after high school graduation and served as a Security Specialist until 1994, when he retired and moved his youngest son and the boy’s mother, his wife at the time, from the Bay Area of California back to Missouri. He lost that wife to pancreatic issues just before 9/11, but recovered well in spite of the loss. He had never written anything, except in an educational setting, until January of 2018, when he found a site, SOL, where he could post and receive some feedback. Gaining a small following of a few fans and winning a ‘best in class’ award for 2019, receiving over twice the nominations of the closest competitor, and being nominated for a best in category award in 2018, he decided to do better, work harder, and yes, go public. (He takes a second to thank his editor at this point.) His travels and experience base add realism to most of his writings, however, he admits he has never flown in a spaceship, nor translated to another dimension with his current wife of over twenty years. They reside in a small rural Northeast Missouri town raising his granddaughter, which is a whole ‘nother tale.
