Chapter 1

Dan

As the open-topped convertible barreled along the empty desert highway, Dan swept a lock of light brown hair from his sunbaked face and peered over at his wife. Stretched out in the passenger seat with her long toned legs splayed out, Daisy wore only a tiny pleated skirt and a thin—very thin—fluttering ivory blouse. The fierce sunlight seared her glistening tanned skin. As her long blonde ponytail whipped in the breeze behind her, Dan exhaled and grinned.

God, I’m lucky.

In college, where they’d met, she’d been a dancer for the basketball team. Dan, the quintessential nerd, was a computer science major. In one of those freak twists of fate, they’d bumped into each other at the campus coffee shop. He’d overheard her saying she needed help with math. At that point in his isolated life, he’d needed—anybody, so he’d overcome his fear and offered to help. It’d been awkward, but she’d smiled as she left. While he’d been enamored with her, not a single friend thought they’d ever hook up. But to his, and his friends, great surprise, Daisy had apparently taken a liking to him and “bumped” into him again. They’d hit it off.

And so, now, here they were, less than a year later. He sighed at the glint of her diamond ring and couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sadness. In order for him to take this new job, Daisy agreed to a rushed wedding. After cramming what little they owned into the trunk, the pair were now racing across the country to their new home. At first, they were excited and enamored by the scenery, but after crossing the seemingly millionth mile of almost featureless desert, they both were bored.

With another glance, an idea to break the boredom flashed into Dan’s sun-fried mind. Would she want to play? One way to find out. In the rearview mirror, Dan caught his impish grin when he slid a finger over the silky warmth of his wife’s gleaming arm. While yawning and stretching, her long manicured red nails shined in the sunlight. His breath caught in his throat as the shapely swell of her chest bowed upwards.

Very lucky.

“Hey, sweetie. How about giving me something else to stare at than the desert?”

While one hand shaded her fluttering eyes, Daisy rolled her head to face him. When her brilliant blue eyes shined over at him through her long lashes, his heart thumped in his chest.

“Like what?” she asked with a smile.

While Dan’s gaze swept over her lean physique, his wife bit the corner of her lower lip. Dan raised an eyebrow.

Daisy frowned. “Out here? No way.”

A laugh escaped Dan, and he waved his hand around. “Who’s gonna see you, Daisy? There’s nuthin’ out here.”

Daisy scanned the barren landscape and the long empty black ribbon of highway before and behind them before returning to him. Even under the effects of the sun, Dan swallowed when her face turned that cute shade of pink. He knew that look—that pink. She was going to do it!

When Daisy moved her long fingers to the top button of her blouse, Dan licked his lips and looked up the road. Honestly, at that point, he doubted she’d actually do much. Though she used to dance in a tiny skirt and skimpy top at basketball games, she hadn’t showed herself off since then.

While trying to focus on the endless strip of narrow asphalt, his eyes kept shifting to follow each slow release of a button. With a devilish grin fixed on her reddening face, Daisy remained fixed on him, teasing each slice of thin flapping material before descending to the next button. At every newly revealed inch of glistening pale skin, his heart pounded and his shorts became tighter. While chewing on her lower lip, at last his wife held the open blouse halves flapping in her hands, playfully rubbing them over her lacy bra. Tiny beads of sweat coated her tanned, and untanned pale, skin.

“Tease.” Dan smiled.

With a musical laugh, Daisy arched upward and ripped the thin material away before tossing it in the back seat. Stunned at her swift motion, the car swerved when his wife’s full chest jiggled under the delicate black lace bra.

Though his cock swelled instantly, it took a second for his brain to react. After a nervous swallow, he glanced at her. “God, you’re so beautiful.”

After blowing him a kiss, Daisy, a grin on her luscious red lips, reclined in the shiny black seat and closed her eyes. For a while, they drove on in silence, the open-top letting hot, dry drafts buffet them as they rolled along. But soon, Dan debated pushing his luck. Though Daisy would never go for it, something urged him to try. Curiosity? Arousal? More boredom?
