The gravel crunched under their shoes as Trip and Wren walked from the Retreat to Susan’s house. The sun hadn’t quite set, but the day had cooled enough to be almost comfortable. Even the humidity felt lower, though Trip guessed that wasn’t true.
Instead, he squeezed Wren’s hand. Her engagement ring pressed into his hand and he looked at her and smiled. She returned both the grin and the squeeze.
“So tell me about the Raefords,” she said.
“Elaine’s really hot,” Trip said. “Dennis is alright, I suppose. They’re older than us.”
“Susan’s age?”
“Nah. In their thirties, I’d guess,” Trip said. “You’ll like them.”
“But you won’t have a problem with me and David…?”
He snorted but tried to turn it into a laugh. “No. I know how much you enjoyed last time.”
She nodded, but thankfully didn’t comment. Instead, she asked, “Do you think things’ll be different with Beth?”
“Meaning she might want to have sex with me this time? I dunno, but it doesn’t matter. I’m sure Elaine and Susan will keep me busy.”
“Just save some for me,” she said with a grin. I am your fiancée after all.”
“No problem,” he shot back. “You’ll be the hottest one there.”
Her smile glowed and she squeezed his hand tight.
They heard the merry chatter before they rounded the corner to Susan’s patio.
Trip’s eyes immediately found Elaine. The brunette was laughing at something David, sitting next to her, had said. Her bare breasts bounced delightfully and her eyes danced merrily. Then she spotted Trip and Wren and she smiled.
“Congratulations!” Elaine said.
“Thanks,” Trip and Wren said together.
Trip glanced around. Susan, Beth, and Dennis Raeford had just broken off their own conversation and were grinning as well. They were all drinking margaritas and nibbling on a basket of tortilla chips.
“Thank you,” Wren said to Elaine. She gave Trip a sunny smile. “I’m a lucky woman!”
“I’m the lucky one,” Trip replied, which earned him a kiss.
Dennis Raeford stood and looked at Wren. “Would you like a margarita? I learned this great recipe during our trip to Jamaica.”
“Oh?” Wren said. “When were you there?”
“April,” Elaine answered. “Dennis’s parents watched the kids and we spent a week at a swinger’s resort.”
“For real?” Wren said. She looked at Trip. “Maybe we should go there.”
“She was just about to tell us the good parts,” David teased. He looked at Wren and gestured toward a nearby empty chair.
“Hey, Trip,” Dennis said, “help me make more drinks?” He nodded toward the door to the Susan’s kitchen.
“Uh, sure.” Trip let go of Wren’s hand. “You want one, babe?”
“What do you think?” she replied. Then she headed for the seat next to David.
Dennis had a small bar set up on the counter next to the sink. All the ingredients were there except crushed ice, which he pulled out of the freezer. He smiled at Trip and started to pour tequila into a pitcher.
“Hey, glad you could make it,” Dennis said.
“Thanks for inviting us.”
He shrugged. “Elaine likes you.”
“The feeling’s mutual.”
Dennis turned to the pitcher and began adding other ingredients. His shoulders tensed slightly before he glanced over at Trip.
“Hey,” Dennis said, “there’s a reason I asked you in here. Elaine and I have decided we want another kid—”
“Congratulations!”
“Yeah, but she’s not actually pregnant yet.” He gave Trip an apologetic smile.
“Ah,” Trip said. He shoved his disappointment down before it could show on his face. “You mean I can’t…”
“Yeah,” Dennis said, “you can’t go all the way with her.”
Trip smiled and hoped it didn’t seem faked. “Not a problem. We’re just here to have fun anyway, right?”
“Thanks. I thought you’d understand.”
Trip nodded toward the pitcher. “Let’s finish these drinks.”
Trip followed Dennis back out to the courtyard. David was telling a long story about British pilots in a storm. Wren and Elaine hung on every word. Trip set one margarita in front of Wren and she gave him a brief smile before turning back to David. As Trip set the other in front of Susan, she stood.
“Let’s get some more chips,” she told him. She stood and revealed her red bikini bottoms. “And get some more salsa.”
“Sure,” he said with a blink.
“Let me,” Wren said and stood. Wren gestured to Trip. “Have a seat, sweetheart.” Then she turned to Beth. “Need another drink?”
Beth touched the stem of her half-full glass. “I’m good.”
“I’ll help,” Dennis said to Wren. She thanked him with a nod.
Trip took his own drink in hand and sank into the chair next to Beth. David immediately started telling a new story to Elaine.
“How’s the construction coming?” Beth asked.
“Good,” Trip said. “It’s more demolition at this stage.”
“Wren said you’re going to Atlanta…?”
“Yeah.” He couldn’t help a small grin. “Her dad has a party every year. And we need to buy a computer. We’re gonna see some of her friends, too.”
“I heard.” The innuendo in Beth’s voice was unmistakable. “It sounds fun.”
“I hope so,” Trip said. “Wren’s a little worried about the guy, though.”
“Oh?”
“I get the impression he’s insecure.” He looked over at David. “Not like some people.”
Beth followed his glance and chuckled. “Yeah, that’s not his problem.”
"Does he even have any problems?”
“Well,” she said coyly, “only if you define ‘very enthusiastic’ as a problem.”
David overheard and smirked.
“You manage fine,” he said. Then he winked at Elaine. “Some women like my enthusiasm.”
Elaine smiled and moistened her lips, which caused David to grin.
Trip forced a smile.
Under the table, Beth laid a reassuring hand on Trip’s thigh. He took a slow sip of his margarita and sucked in his breath—it was stronger than he’d expected—but it did taste good.
Dennis opened the door from the kitchen. He wore a broad grin and carried chips and another drink. He nodded back toward the way he’d come.
Hey, Trip,” he said, “you’re wanted in the kitchen.”
“What for?”
“Dunno,” Dennis said, but his grin widened. “No idea at all. Completely clueless.”
“Uh-huh,” Elaine said with a smirk.
“I’ll get some more drinks,” Dennis said as he set the chips down. “Won’t be long.” He raised his eyebrows at Trip.
“Yeah, yeah,” Trip said as he climbed to his feet. “I’m coming.”
“Not yet, you aren’t,” Beth teased.
Trip just shook his head in amusement and headed toward the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Trip found Wren and Susan leaning against the counter chatting. They broke off their conversation when he walked in. The door behind him banged shut as Dennis returned to the patio. Wren couldn’t keep the silly grin off her face.
“You wanted me?” Trip said.
“Oh, what I could do with a straight line like that,” Susan teased.
“He’s good at those,” Wren said. “Of course, he’s good at lots of things.”
“Anything you want in particular?” Trip asked.
“Stand there,” Susan said. She gestured toward a nearby counter. When he moved to where she’d indicated, she stepped close and started fondling his cock.
“May I?” she asked.
“Hell, yeah.”
She sank to her knees in front of him and gave his cock a couple of strokes. As it hardened, she leaned forward and kissed the head. Then she opened her mouth and started to suck.
“In light of the circumstances…,” Wren said.
