Delilah Cole likes to write naughty, smutty short stories. When she's not writing, she's reading books in the same genre. Delilah is a crazy animal lover, and although she finds it difficult to remember the names of people five seconds after she's met them, Delilah can tell you the name of someone's dog she met thirty years ago.

over her iced coffee, giving me that teasing look I knew too well, “are you really planning to be a forty-year-old virgin, or…?”
I rolled my eyes, stirring my drink, feeling the familiar warmth creep up my cheeks. Karen snickered, leaning forward with a mischievous grin. “Honestly, I think she’s serious. She’s going to be one of those women in the movies, joining some ‘late bloomer’ club with a membership card and everything.”
“Oh, stop!” I laughed, but it came out nervous and breathless. It wasn’t that I wanted to be the last virgin standing in our group—it’s just that I hadn’t found the right guy. They knew that, but they loved reminding me anyway. “It’s not like I’m trying to hold onto it forever.”
“Oh really?” Sarah raised an eyebrow, her grin widening. “Then what’s the holdup?”
I sighed, fiddling with the straw in my drink. “I… I don’t know. It’s just… ugh.” I could feel my cheeks burning. “It’s not like I haven’t thought about it. It’s just that all the guys I meet, well… I don’t know. I don’t trust any of them enough, you know?”
Karen exchanged a knowing look with Sarah. “It’s because you’re too shy,” Karen said gently, nudging my shoulder. “And come on, Lonna, you’re gorgeous! There’s not a guy out there who wouldn’t be dying to be your first.”
I tried to laugh it off, but deep down, I knew there was more to it. I didn’t just want any first time. I wanted it to mean something—to be with someone who saw me, really saw me. Not just my curves or my shyness but everything in between.
Still, as they kept teasing, I could feel the spark of their encouragement. Maybe they were right… maybe it was time to take a chance.
I sat on the edge of my bed, nervously twisting a strand of my long brown hair around my finger. My heart pounded as I rehearsed what I was about to say. The door creaked open, and there they were: Eric and Kyle, my older brothers, both tall and broad-shouldered, with their dark hair and piercing blue eyes. They had always been protective of me, but tonight, I needed more than just protection.
