Finally, Ephus thought, a chance to rest, which he’d been at the whole time. He was starting on his fourth week when he felt titanic disturbance a few miles away.

Ephus reaching out could only shake his head, ah fuck! Again? Sighing Ephus parted the clouds as he felt another body fall through a rift. Shaking his head, he thought of the body appearing before him.

Almost Immediately a tall long, blonde haired, female appeared before him. Her clothes were almost rags seemingly to have been almost buffeted from her body.

Her eyes were huge as she stared at Ephus, bending on her knee she said, “Þú, þú ert Efus vinsamlegast hjálpaðu.” (You, you are Ephus please help.” Ephus was about to ask her who she was when she promptly passed out.

Shit Ephus thought once more, not again. “BAST!”

Less than a moment later Bast appeared a look of worry on her face. “Husband is all well?” Bast Asked then followed Ephus gaze behind her. A hiss issued from her throat. “Nuras! It is The one called Faria, also known as Freya. The Nuras Goddess of love. Has she touched you husband? has she made demands? Shall I end her?”

Ephus eyes were wide, damn but Bast was more jealous than he had ever seen her.

“No Bast, wait you said Freya? As in the Norse goddess of love?” Ephus sighed, it was starting out a lot like with the Greek gods. Bad enough, he could swear that the Titans he had met, were trying to come back also.

“With all that has happened recently, you are just yourself again. I do not wish to risk being as close to losing you as I was. I promise you husband, NOTHING will hold me back, if this happens again. May I suggest that you, send her away before she awakes.” Came Bast’s scathing response.

“Bast,” Ephus said watching as Bast’s fierce look softened at his voice. “She asked for my help, you know I can’t refuse, when I am asked sincerely.”

Bast let out a long sigh, “I know husband, though this, is what started the trouble last time. I warned you many times that the Helenes gods were as they were. The Nuras gods are even more war-like than the Hellenes gods. If you are to help them, you will need far more training than you have so far.”

Ephus head jerked back in shock, this was the first time that Bast had suggested anything like this. “I will do all that I can to be far better than I am.”

A sly smile crept onto Bast’s lips. “I can guarantee, things will be much, much harder for you this time around. You not only have all you wives fron the Egyptian realm, but the four from the Hellenes realm.” Ephus stared at Bast with a confused look, Bast shook her head at her husband, at times he was almost clueless. “All four of them are now with a child.”

“Four? I thought...” Ephus started.

“We were informed today that Artemis is also.” Bast informed Ephus whose look of confusion, rapidly changed to shock, then pride. “She made it a point to inform all of us herself.”

“Shit, I guess I am going to have to be at my best before I go into this. You think we could have Serket look at her? I don’t want to put stress on her now that she is with child also.” Ephus told Bast.

“I don’t think it will, in fact it might relieve a little stress for her. She has been feeling a little useless now that she is, no-one wants to upset her. This is though, in fact, really upsetting her.” Bast said as she shrugged.

Ephus thought a moment then nodded. Only a moment later Serket appeared a huge smile on her face.

“Ah husband, finally one who won’t treat me as if I am fragile. I...” Serket was saying then stopped as she espied the prone form of the almost naked blonde female. Walking to the female Serket walked around touching and observing.

“Is there need to...” Ephus started then quieted when Serket held up a hand.

A few minutes later Serket shook her head. “Husband, she is extremely weak, I am afraid that there’s not much I can do. She needs energy or I fear that she will fade to nothing. It is a fate most horrible for a god.”

Ephus nodded then stood, walking to the unconscious female. Laying a hand on the female, Ephus waited a full minute watching as the female’s skin started to glow a moment. With a nod Ephus removed his hand then stood back as the female started to stir.

A moment later the females blue eyes snapped open. Taking a deep breath, the female’s eyes opened wider. Looking around her eyes settled on Ephus then quickly dropped downward. “I ... I am sorry Lord Ephus I did not mean insult looking at you.”

Ephus could only shake his head what in the hell was going on with all them. He does a few good things then he is suddenly feared, revered, almost worshiped? Oh, hell no!

With a slight sigh Ephus placed a hand under Freya’s chin, gently lifting her head. “I am no Lord I am just Ephus, which I would be happy if you called me that.”

Freya’s eyes went wide as she started to shake her head no. “Lord sir, tales of your daring and deeds have reached even us in the Asgard realm. I was sent in the hope that I could find you, then, somehow convince you to return with me. All is not well in the realm, nor with the others. I...” Freya stopped to stare at her hand which was glowing slightly with power.

“Yes,” Ephus spoke up, “you have almost half your power back. I was informed it was the only way to preserve you.”

Freya’s mouth dropped open as she waved her hand making her clothes appear new. She stared a moment at the clothes, then launched herself at Ephus, knocking him to the ground, where she covered his face with kisses. A moment later Freya withdrew her self-back from Ephus as Bast was slightly growling.

“I ... I apologize Lord Ephus, I forgot myself and who you are,” Freya stated. Freya’s head was once again looking at the floor. Several severe trembling’s shook her body. “Please lord sir, please don’t punish my people because of my stupidity.”

This of course made Ephus growl, making Freya cringe and seem to try to shrink smaller.

A sigh escaped Ephus mouth as he calmed then said. “I am not angry with you or your people Freya. I am mad at myself that I have made you fear me, it was not my intention.”

“Lord sir, we have heard of the strange power that you possess. Many in my realm know that you can turn off almost all power, no one wishes that.” Freya said this last said in a whisper.

“Alright, just let me know what is happening in your realm, that way I can plan, not go in knowing nothing.” Ephus replied.

Freya’s eyes were wide a moment, then she nodded as she related all that was happening in her home realm.

The further Freya got into her tale, the grimmer faced Ephus got. “So, you are telling me that, this Loki is at the heart of much that is wrong in your realm?” Ephus was starting to have a really bad feeling about this.

“Husband,” Bast spoke up, “this has much the same ear marks as that trouble you had with Ares. I am starting to have misgivings about this mission.”

Freya’s head snapped toward Bast, a look of concern and worry on her face at Bast’s words. Was it possible that Ephus might refuse her request? By Odin’s power she hoped not, especially after Ephus had brought her back as far as he had.

Both Ephus and Bast turned toward Freya when they both heard a gasp. Freya’s head, had dropped further as a few tears had escaped her eyes. A look of concern was now etched on Ephus face at this new development. Bast’s face on the other hand, had a small smirk as she was staring hard at Freya.

“Do not be deceived husband, she is willing to do almost anything to save her realm.” Bast whispered snidely.

Ephus turned to stare at Bast incredulously, “almost the same as you when I helped your realm? As I remember you came to me, never forget that!”

Bast’s face immediately dropped as she realized what she had said. In a low voice Bast said, “I am sorry husband, this time with this child is harder than any before.”

Ephus was about to speak when Serket gently laid a hand on Bast’s stomach. Ephus and Bast looked at each other as Serket moved around touching many places nodding her head.

“It is harder as it should be,” Serket said drawing a curious and concerned look from both of them. Shaking her head with a sigh Serket continued. “I am surprised that you didn’t feel it sister. You are not with one but TWO little ones.” Serket started to laugh at the look of shock on both Ephus and Bast’s faces.

“T ... T ... TWO!” Bast said in an almost silent whisper.

Ephus was also in shock what in the hell was going on? As far as he knew, there was no history of ANY twins in his family.

Serket started to laugh harder when the both of them were still in shock. “Twin gods or goddesses? Are you sure?”

This comment of course had Serket’s face tensing up a moment, then it relaxed. “You are with child so I can forgive you that comment, when dear sister have you EVER known me to be wrong?”

Still slightly in shock Bast looked at Serket, “in well over six thousand years? Never does an instance of you being wrong come to mind.”

“If that is so, then why do you have cause to doubt me now?” Serket said, slight irritation in her voice.

“Sister,” Bast started, “it is just that there have been no twins in a very, very long time. You know what happened last time. Do you think the others would allow it?” A now seemingly scared Bast said.

Serket’s face took on an angry look as she thought about it. The longer she thought the angrier she got. “Considering that they are Ephus children, plus Ephus is their father, how can they not? We need to talk to our brothers and sisters.”

“Perhaps I could...” Ephus started.

“NO!” Both females almost shouted scaring not only Ephus, it also had Freya taken aback. She’d been trying not to interject any comment, the whole time the discussion had been going on.

“If you go to their realm, I suggest you take another full day to train with brother Anhur. It might also help to have Sekhmet in on the training also.” Bast said as both sisters turned to go, then Bast turned back. “you also might want to get Enyo involved. They are all war god’s; it might increase your chances when you go. Though I suggest you get no less than a day before you go, if not then that would get ME involved!” Bast growled.

Ephus watched as both left then turned to deal with Freya. “As you can see, I will not be able to go for a day or so.” It was then that Ephus noticed that she was staring behind him. Swallowing hard, Ephus turned to see his human wife Quinn watching him and the blonde female that was with him.

A moment later Quinn walked to him, “I take it another realm has asked for help?” Quinn said with a sigh.

Ephus was about to answer when he felt a slight stirring of power. What the hell he thought, looking around he searched everywhere his eyes settling on his human wife.

“I am sorry you are so upset.” Ephus said seeming to surprise Quinn.

“What are you talking about?” A confused Quinn asked.

“Quinn, you have been blessed by all my Egyptian wives, Thoth, Ra and I suspect Anhur. In all that time I am surprised that it didn’t manifest itself sooner.” A widely smiling Ephus said.

Confused Quinn asked, “manifested? What are you on about? What does the fact that I have been touched and blessed by that many gods and goddesses have to do with anything? I mean, I know I am far more healthier and I will live longer, though nothing more than that. So, I am confused by this manifesting you are talking about.”

Ephus smiled wider, “why my dear, your god power.”

“WHAT!” Quinn said, as Ephus nodded to her left hand, that was slightly glowing. “Oh my god! Quinn said as she started to shake her hand to get it to stop glowing. Then she started to shake it harder when it didn’t stop. “How the hell am I goddess? I am a human; I am not understanding!”

Ephus nodded his understanding as he reached out gently taking Quinn’s hand. To her relief her hand slowly returned to a more human appearance.

“Now, as I was saying, you have god power. Like me, you, are not really a god or in your case a goddess. As I can feel, you are only at the beginning of it, so at this point, I am unsure as to just how much you will have.” Ephus told a more relieved though still slightly worried Quinn. “Might I suggest that you try not to get upset? It seems to be a trigger the only one I see right now.”

With a deep breath, Quinn nodded, “I will do my best, though as Bast said, with the most recent events I am going to have a hard time of that.”

“I am sorry that I can’t be of more help my dear, it seems I have to go back to school.” Ephus said as not only Anhur appeared, so too did Sekhmet. “Again, it appears that, I am in need of your skill and training brother.” Ephus said to Anhur who bowed.

“As always I am more than glad to help.” Anhur said.

Ephus took a deep breath turning to Sekhmet, “I am also in need of your skill in warfare and your tendency to play.”

Sekhmet looked hard at Ephus a thin line to her lips then she nodded. “The one you are going against makes that which I have done pale in comparison.”

“Perhaps, though any advantage I have will greatly aid me.” Ephus said then turned as a female appeared behind Anhur and Sekhmet. “ I am sorry to take you from your rest, as a goddess of war I am also in need of you.”

Enyo looked at a now smiling Sekhmet and Anhur. “I will do all that I can though...” Enyo started, then her eyes flew wide when Ephus touched her hand, then wider when her skin started to glow.

“I had wanted to do this sooner; I am sorry that it took as long as it did.” Here he turned to both females, “I am also sorry that the restricting of your power caused you both such pain.”

“I have more than forgiven you husband, our daughter has replaced almost all the pain as has your love.” Sekhmet said.

Enyo was about to burst, Ephus had finally restored all her power. She knew that she had to give all that she could to him with this training.

For the rest of the day Ephus was in combat with one of the three. Anhur was smiling widely when they finished their second bout. “You are finally moving as fast as I am. you are the first in a very long time to actually challenge me, very good.”

Sekhmet had been hard pressed to keep up with Ephus, though as time went on, she too was starting to feel Ephus improve.

“I hope that this doesn’t cause you any stress,” Ephus told Enyo.

“No, if anything it will relieve any stress I have.” Enyo said. She started to press Ephus with an entirely different style. A huge smile lit up both their faces as they started to get faster and faster.

Both Sekhmet and Anhur studied Enyo’s style, seeing that indeed it was very different. Though Ephus had gone against Enyo and her brother before, this new style was intriguing.

Soon both Enyo and Ephus were covered in a fine layer of dust. Enyo had nearly caught Ephus unaware a few times, this had more than focused Ephus to the task at hand. Finally, as the day was ending all three bowed to Ephus, “your speed and skill have indeed increased.” Anhur said.

“I just hope that it is enough, the addition of the Greek word training techniques should help.” Ephus turned to where Freya was seated nearby. “Perhaps I should ask her, if she thinks it might aid me?”

All three also turned to stare at Freya, “that might be advisable, brother,” Anhur said.

Ephus nodded as he advanced to where Freya was. “I have to ask Freya, do you think that the skills I have with the sword will aid me with Thor and the many warriors there in your realm?”

Freya looked up a moment then dropped her gaze. “What I have seen of your skill is startling. To improve as fast as you have is a sight to behold in deed. When you started, I thought your skill would be far greater than it was. It was like watching ou children when they play, though in a day you increased from a child’s skill greatly. At present you have become deadly, to those in my realm as they are now.”

“So, I am feeling that you think I am not skilled enough to beat any of the warriors of your realm?” Ephus asked.

“I cannot lie to you Lord Ephus.” Freya said. “You have grown far more deadly than you were, as they are now, I can see you defeating almost all of them. Odin though, I am not so sure of, true you will garner respect, though not much.” A sighing Freya said.

“Are you familiar with their style? Can you fight with a sword?” Ephus asked.

Ephus backed up a bit when he saw Freya stiffen and tense up, the mad look on her face wasn’t helping either.

“I am sorry lord Ephus, you do not know of my realm, as we do let much information pass our borders. Yes, all are trained with many weapons.” Freya said still looking at the ground.

Ephus was nodding, “I, then ask for you to practice with me, in your people’s style. I would be honored to see and learn it.”

Freya’s body jerked a moment, the Lord Ephus wished to spar with her?

Freya stood then bowed, “I would be most honored.” With that she drew, almost out of the air, a long, double sided sword. The pommel appeared to look like a slender crown. The Tang between the pommel and cross-guard was thin and strong. The cross-guard itself appeared to be a bat with its wings to the sides, curved legs on each side of the blade.

Ephus could only stare at the weapon. “It was a gift from Heimdall, though it is shorter than his.”

Anhur could only nod at the beauty and structure of the sword.

Walking to Ephus Anhur drew a sword out of the air as Freya had. “I think that you are in need of a real weapon brother.” Anhur said handing Ephus a strong, wicked looking, double edged sword.

With a wicked smile Freya rapidly advanced on Ephus then seemed to disappear. She then appeared a moment later swinging her sword at Ephus actually catching him by surprise.

After that initial attack they both seemed to go at it for hours. The sun had already risen for the next day when Ephus called a stop to their sparring.

“I am glad that we have had a chance to spar. Though I know they are far faster than you, at least now I have an idea of their fighting.” Ephus said then was shocked when Freya shook her head.

“Again, Lord Ephus, you have improved to the point that you would more than last against them. I am afraid that you only possess half of our techniques as you call them. I also feel that you would defeat them easier though as I said about Odin, I am still not sure.”

“I have to agree brother,” Anhur said. “You are far beyond what you were though watching her, even she can match you. Perhaps you should wait, train more?”

“From all that Freya has told me of her realm, they are in far greater need of me than even the Greek realm. As Freya told me and Bast implied, many will fade if I don’t help soon.” Ephus explained.

Anhur and Sekhmet both shuddered at the mention of a god fading away. “I watched it happen a very long time ago. it was a most horrible thing to watch, they were then suddenly, there was nothing of them at all.”

With a look at a now concerned Freya Ephus nodded. “I just hope that all I have gained today will help me more than I think they will.”

“I am also hoping so, though, both realms going to war to avenge you should strike fear in them.” Anhur said.

Ephus shook his head, from all he’d read and now felt about them, the Norse gods were going to be more than a pain in the ass! “One would think, though you have to remember, they are VERY war like, perhaps twice what the Greek gods were.”

Anhur sighed then clasp Ephus shoulders, “be well, we are prepared to attack to return you.”

“We also in my realm are prepared to attack, father has promised that we will not stop ‘til you are safe.” Enyo said.

Ephus gave a nod to all three then walked to a slightly trembling Freya. “Shall we go? I believe I know where your realm is.” Freya nodded when Ephus laid a hand on her arm then a moment later they were in the Norse realm of Asgard.

Ephus looked in all directions staring at the bleak, cold, desolate, rocky, dark land. Damn he thought, it is far worse than the Greek realm, here I thought that place was bleak.

It was at that moment he noticed an approaching sound, much like the flapping of wings. This though seemed from something far larger than birds.

“We need to go lord Ephus, I fear that the Valkyries are approaching to attack.” Freya said trying to get Ephus to leave.

When Ephus didn’t move Freya turned to stare at what Ephus was focused on. Rapidly approaching were several dozens of angry looking armored females, each wielding their own wicked sword. The thing that mainly got Ephus attention was the simple fact that they were flying with their own wings.

Again, Freya tried to get Ephus to move. “We must depart here; they are under orders from Loki. He has somehow bewitched and muddled their minds. I fear that even your powers won’t be able to break through.”

Ephus, tried to shake his head to break whatever spell the beautiful females were having on him.

“I don’t remember them having the power to hold a male like they are me.” Ephus said almost in a whisper.

“It is I fear, something that Loki has done to them. You can break this power Ephus, you are far stronger than this spell is.” Freya said a look of concern on her face. “Not even I can get through to them anymore.”

This seemed to snap Ephus out of whatever hold the Valkyries had on him. “Do you have somewhere we can go, somwhere they can’t get to?” Ephus asked.

“I do though, as weak as I still am, I am not sure if I can.” Freya said.

Ephus reached out lightly touching Freya’s head. “Ah I see,” Ephus said as they both vanished. Less than a moment later they appeared in what appeared to have once been an opulent building. Ephus waved a hand making it look brand new, which seemed to shock Freya. “There that should help.”

“You do realize that this room, this building, will draw attention? With the amount of power,” Freya was saying then stopped as she felt the shield cover the building. Her mouth hanging open she said, “by my sword I doubt any could break that. Even all the Valkyries together, would have very great difficulty breaking this. I didn’t realize that your power was that great.”

A smile came to Ephus mouth as he slightly shook his head. “As I have learned, it’s not the amount of power one has. It’s more how you use it, I have learned the hard way, how to use mine to maximin effect.”

Freya dropped to her knees, “Lord Ephus you are indeed far wiser than I at first thought.”

Ephus was about to speak when, the building shook when a titanic force struck the shield. Ephus looked at the wall the concentrated a bit. Less than a moment later a beautiful, dark haired, winged female appeared a few feet from Ephus.

The female’s eyes went wide, then a roar came from her throat as she unsheathed her sword. She brought the sword forward then stopped inches from Ephus, a look of extreme confusion on her face.

Kill him! A voice was almost yelling from the air. KILL HIM! I will reward you greatly! Still the female was staring at Ephus eyes, a compulsion she’d never felt before was pulling at her mind. Slowly ever so slowly the females face and eyes cleared ‘til she too was kneeling to Ephus.

Ephus had immediately followed the voice back to where it was coming from. Drawing back a fist Ephus punched Loki in the gut, damn Ephus thought what the hell? It was like punching a wall when he was still just human, though he saw Loki grimace as the hit drove him back into the wall. Ephus smiled when he saw Loki suddenly loose his lunch.

A full host of beings jumped to help Loki only to bounce off the energy around him.

So, you are here, you wish to challenge me for Asgard? Bring it on, I welcome a true challenge, a chance to truly crush a warrior. Here Ephus, saw Loki point to another male in the room, chained to a wall. Not a weak fool like this one, Odin looks good where he is chained, humiliated like the useless THING that he is. I should ... what is happening!? STOP! Loki was almost screaming reaching out as Odin had started to vanish, then was gone, the shackles and chains dropping to the floor.

You know what Loki? You have a big damn mouth, like another boasting, moron god I knew. Laughing as hard as he could Ephus broke the contact.

Freya looked up a moment later gasping when she saw Odin slumped on the floor. The Valkyrie was also gasping as she and Freya both ran to Odin. With a groan the male opened his eyes seeing Freya and the Valkyrie. “Ah,” he said weakly. “you were able to free me.”

Both females looked at each other then shook their heads, “Lord Odin it was not us; it was the halvgud Ephus.”

Odin slowly nodded as he looked at Ephus, then back to Freya. “I see you were successful; I can feel more than half your power returned.” Freya nodded, then gasp as Odin’s eyes closed.

Freya turned to Ephus. “Lord Ephus, please help him, he is very weak, please don’t let him fade.”

The Valkyrie also said, “you broke a spell I thought to never get free from, if you can do that, I know you can save Odin.”

Ephus eyes went wide, he remembered what the war gods and his wives had said about this. His hand went to Odin’s chest as, he again concentrated. A minute later, he let go, Odin’s skin was starting to glow. Leaning back against the wall he could feel a great drain on him. Hell, he thought, here he thought that the Greek gods had been weak.

Even though he could feel his power rapidly rebuilding, he was still weaker than he wanted to be. He could tell that if he was going to save the Norse gods it was going to take a hell of a lot more energy. More than he’d done before, strange though he could swear he could feel an outside influence.

Sitting up a few moments later Ephus nodded his head, yes, there was a definite outside force at play. Damnit! Why in the hell did this power feel familiar, it felt a lot like Ares had, when he had been battling him. Again, Ephus shook his head, reaching out he could feel a very weak Ares where he’d been exiled to.

Ephus ran everything that had happened through his head. An idea struck him then was lost as there was another shake of the building. With a sigh Ephus looked at the wall again, drawing his own sword. He needed to weaken Loki’s hold on as many of the Valkyries as he could. Having them to aid him might be a boon indeed.

Both Freya and the dark-haired Valkyrie gasp as not one but two extremely beautiful, blonde haired, winged females, appeared. One held a long dangerous spear, the other a spiked wand with a sword at her back and a shorter spear.

Both of their eyes went wide as they stared at first Odin, Freya, then the Valkyrie who was attending Odin.

“So, Prima, you have betrayed our Lord Loki,” the blonde stated though to Ephus it sounded strained.

“Let me take care of them Göndul, the male in front is nothing but a mere human I,” the spear bearer started. Both of the females backed up a bit as Ephus started to power up. He was at three fourths his power when the spear bearer stepped forward.

“A wise move hiding your true power though it will do you no good.” She spoke.

“Tread wisely Geirahöð, this one has already done harm to Lord Loki.” Göndul said to Geirahöð.

With a nod of her head Geirahöð advanced then stopped a few feet from Ephus. “I know not what spell or magic you are using but you will fail!” The blonde shouted as she again tried to advanced, though her eyes were locked on Ephus eyes, the confusion going more by the second on her face.

“Why do you hesitate Geirahöð? The Lord Loki has ordered us to destroy him.” Göndul said through clenched teeth. Then to her utter disbelief, Geirahöð dropped her spear then bowed to Ephus.

“What are you doing?” Göndul shouted as she drew her sword advancing toward the first blonde Valkyrie. Raising her sword she swung with all her might towards the bowing Valkyrie’s neck, only to be shocked when her sword was blocked then knocked away.

“I will not allow you to harm her!” Ephus growled as he stepped in front of the bowed female.

“You dare to interfere in the punishment of a disobedient, betraying Valkyrie? It will indeed be a pleasure to show you the error of your actions.” The blond female said as she struck out with both sword and spear.

Shit Ephus thought, when she started to press him back. Luckily, he recognized many of the sword moves she used. Damn he thought, she is far more powerful that I thought. Starting out in the Egyptian style, Ephus saw that he wouldn’t last long.

Göndul was shaking her head, this human/god was obviously using magic to try and defeat her. She was far stronger than that, no one had overtaken her senses, with a roar she thought that wasn’t going to either!

Ephus could see that the female was far different than any he’d met before. The only one he faced before that resisted this long was Enyo. Shaking his head Ephus thought he had an idea, now just to survive to see it through.

When he changed his style to the Greek style, he saw Göndul falter a moment, Ephus took advantage to stare right into her eyes.

Again Göndul, shook her head, what was this strange power that this human/god was using? Thrusting with her sword she was surprised she almost pierced the male’s side. Then the male changed the style of his sword. A thin smile came to her lips, this was a far more aggressive style. More aggressive, less predictable than the first style, though she could start to see holes in his defense.

Damnit, she thought, the longer this goes on the more I want to stop it. Don’t you dare! A voice ripped through her mind. You have to pay this upstart back for the insult he gave me.

This almost made Göndul stop, though she could also feel Loki, pushing her to finish. Something she was finding harder and harder to do.

Ephus started to smile, he could see that Göndul was starting to fight less aggressively. Hopefully, she can break whatever hold Loki has on her.

I was far to easy on you halvgud. Not to worry I will destroy you when we meet again. Came the thoughts of Loki. Göndul stopped completely looking around, now a look of confusion dominated her features. Bah! What can you do? You have two of the weakest Valkyries, plus the war Valkyrie. Even with Odin and Freya you have no hope to win. Loki’s thoughts said. I know their power is low what can they do?

Ephus growled as he reached out again punching Loki in the face, though this time he put all he had into it. Loki shocked, was propelled through the wall into the next room. Colliding with that wall he slowly slid down it a smile on his face. A smile that faded as surprise came to Loki’s face then he passed out.

All four women in the room gasp out in surprise when Loki’s influence was suddenly gone. Both of the new females ran to Odin who was just starting to stir.

Ephus reached inside feeling for his reserves, then he plunged his hands into them erecting a shield around himself. Ephus sat at the other end of the room, shit he was exhausted, he hadn’t got his power back up, now though it was going to take longer. Damn he thought I should have waited.

Another thing that seemed to be stopping him, his concentration was off, way off. Ephus reached out again feeling if any other gods were trying to extend their influence over him.

A silent growl went through him as he could swear that, he was once again feeling the Titans that he had before. Their power was of an ancient nature, therefore more unknown to him. He did have a few ideas since the last time they had talked and met.

Then again Ephus thought, they were also a lot older having had an extremely long time to plot and plan. Damnit it this was starting to grow more and more complicated. If they were truly involved as he thought, he was going to need more information than he had.

Well, he thought, that was all well and good, he still had to get Odin up enough to hold this realm together, ‘til he got to the others. Freeing Odin had been a stroke of luck. Ephus didn’t think Loki was so stupid that he might let Ephus slip past him again to free others.

Then again Ephus thought, Loki might just be a dupe for the Titans or some others like the Titans. Ephus tried to shake his head, which caused a dull throbbing to start.

A smile came to Ephus face as he finally had a hand on what was occurring. At least I can fix this he thought with these five I have a few allies. Touching his shield, he started to slowly change its composition. Ephus nodded when he felt the air clear of the influence, he also felt his power rebuilding faster.

Another groan came from where Odin was. Ephus smiled when he saw Odin’s eyes snap open in surprise.

“Where am I?” His voice thundered. Looking around he caught sight of Ephus on the floor. “Just got here and already you are weakened? Bah! Why did we place our hopes in this human!” Odin said as he rushed at Ephus.

Ephus face held a grimace as he knew what was about to happen. Sure enough, Odin collided with Ephus energy shield bouncing hard off it into the nearest wall. Odin growled, then roared as he jumped to his feet to rush at Ephus again.

Ephus held up a hand momentarily stopping Odin. “Might I suggest, you let your power rebuild a bit, before you do something as foolish as, knocking yourself out on my shields?”

“How dare you, I am Odin, ruler of Asgard,” Odin started ‘til Ephus snapped his fingers. Almost immediately Odin fell to his knees.

“I dare that and much more, that which I have given, I can also block. What you are feeling is almost all that I gave you blocked. Still think I am weak?” Ephus shook his head when Odin only stared at him with a fierce look. Ephus turned to Freya, “I was afraid this was going to happen.” Reaching out Ephus touched all five of them, even though Odin tried to pull away.

Freya’s eyes went wide when she felt like there was something blocking her mind from outside thoughts. “What is this? I fell my mind is far stronger than it was.”

“Hmmm,” Ephus said, “it is in a way, like a helmet that is protecting your mind instead of your head.” Ephus said trying to explain what he’d just done.

“Look, I am not about to try and help people who obviously don’t want my help. You,” Ephus said pointing a finger at Odin, “are supposed to be the leader here. If you don’t want my help, then how in the hell are the rest going to accept me. No, like I told the Greek gods, you wanna be like this fine, I have a family to tend to. You asked me here, I can go just as easily.” A seriously pissed off Ephus said.

All four of the females wore shocked looks on their faces. “Lord Ephus, if you don’t help then there won’t be much of Asgard left.” Freya said.

“Like I told the Greek gods? If I am going to be treated as if I am nothing, then I say to hell with this realm. It might be a really good thing if it fades away!” Ephus shouted making the whole building shake.

“Why you upstart halvgud’ I should,” Odin started.

“You’ll do nothing,” here Ephus lightly touched first Freya, then all three of the Valkyries. He nodded his head when all four of the females glowed a moment, they turned to him shocked. “All of you four have the power to leave this pitiful place. With a leader like this Odin thing, I am surprised you lasted this long.”

“Please don’t leave Lord Ephus, this realm is close to collapse.” Freya asked with her head down.

With a sigh Ephus said, “I can’t stay here, I am here to help not fight the enemy and those who supposedly want my help.” Reaching out to Odin, Ephus touched him a moment then nodded. “If and to me it is a big IF, you can accept the help, then find me. If not, well you have the power to leave.”

Ephus turned to look at the females then down at Odin. Shaking his head, he vanished.

“I hope you are happy!” Freya shouted, “the only one that could help us, you only served to piss him off. I am sure if Frigg was here, you would get a lot more than an ear full!”

Odin slowly stood feeling the power that Ephus had given him beginning to build.

“Freya! You know that we cannot put this realm in danger. I was,” Odin got out.

“Lord Odin, you more than anyone have seen and heard of the things that Ephus has done. He could have taken over the two realms he helped, he only asked to remain at his home in Midgard. He has asked nothing of either realm, what could he possibly want here, that he couldn’t get there? Plus, I heard that he has more than ten wives.”

Shock covered Odin’s face as he reviewed all that he’d seen and heard of Ephus.

A shake of his head, was the only indication that Odin finally realized, that he might have made a mistake. A mistake that at the moment he didn’t really see a way to correct. Even with the power that he’d had before Ephus blocked it, he didn’t think he had enough power to travel to midgard.

“I fear I might have chased the last hope of Asgard away. Nor I am afraid, that I will have the power to try and bring him back.” A sad Odin said.

“I might be able to accomplish that Lord Odin, though it is going to take many words of wisdom. You might also have to apologize to him, he still has the thinking of a human male. Then again, I have heard he is more like a god in many ways also. I believe lord Odin we will have to tread lightly with him, and be truthful.”

Odin could only stare at Freya, apologize what in the world was that? Freya could only shake her head, how in the hell was she going to get Ephus back if Odin remained as stubborn as he was. With a sigh she thought she had her work cut out for herself, IF she could get Odin to listen.

Ephus appeared a good way from his home, no sense having both realms appear. He had to get this out, though in a way he was having a tantrum like he’d accused other of. Damnit! He’d had enough of this shit with the Greek gods. Now, these damn Norse gods were being nothing except pure assholes!

Ephus stopped a moment, not all of them, the three Valkyries had no choice in the matter. Freya had come to him truly seeking his help. Then there was Odin, Ephus wasn’t sure if he’d ever got through to that one.

Taking a deep breath, Ephus made a chair appear, sitting he had to think of a way to help. It was true he wouldn’t refuse when asked, though if that was suddenly turned to suspicion, here he shook his head.

He’d only been thinking a few minutes, when he felt more than a few powerful being’s approach.

A moment later a worried Bast and pregnant Serket appeared next to him. Less than a moment later an also pregnant Enyo appeared worry on her face.

“Husband,” Bast said softly. “When you reappeared so soon after you left, we came immediately when we felt you return.” Here, all three of the females started to examine every inch of Ephus to make sure he was well.

Ephus held up a hand when they started to delve into his pants. “I am fine though rather mad.” Here he turned to Enyo. “I need to release this anger though I am not sure if I fought you and Anhur, that it would be enough. Anhur?!” Ephus yelled.

A huge whoosh of power alerted Ephus to the approach of Anhur. On Ephus other side, a tall male appeared, a headdress of ostrich feathers, a spear in his hand.

“Brother,” Anhur said a look of confusion on his face. “Is all well? I had thought you would have been gone far longer than this.”

“No, I am afraid not. I have seemed to have lost some of my control. My anger at the Norse god Odin, has me in need of ridding myself of that anger. The thing is I know that this will power me far more than I have been, I do not wish to harm you. Nor do I wish to endanger Sekhmet nor Enyo.” A slightly shaking Ephus said.

“Hmmm, I see. I don’t think that with all three of us going at the same time, any of us will be harmed.” Anhur said then nodded as Sekhmet appeared a different sword in her hands. With a nod when Ephus drew his own sword, Anhur and Sekhmet attacked.

A moment later Enyo also drew a sword entering the fray. As he expected Ephus was easily repulsing their attacks. He was then all four seemed to disappear as their speed became far to fast to follow.

Bast sat with Serket, watching what was going on. “It is good that I am here” Serket said. “At this pace Enyo might not last long. I doubt that Sekhmet will last much longer past that.

Sure enough, both female goddesses were sitting beside Bast and Serket a mere four hours later. They had been joined three hours before, by Ephus human wife, Quinn.

“It shouldn’t be too long now,” Bast said. “I can finally feel his anger abating.” Looking at Serket she said, you might have to attend brother Anhur.” Which caused Serket to nod.

A moment later there was a loud thud as Anhur appeared a large cut across his sword arm and chest. A huge smile was on his face as Serket rose to heal Anhur.

Ephus also appeared, a fine sweat covering him. “I thank you all of you, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to stop, brother.”

A wide smile lit up Anhur’s face, “that was the finest battle I have ever had, Though? You might want to sit before,” Anhur started, then nodded as Ephus, fell to the ground on his face.

Ephus eyes suddenly snapped open, where in the hell was, he? The last he remembered he was fighting Anhur, Sekhmet and Enyo. A stirring beside him quickly drew his attention.

“Bast?” Ephus said drawing a smile on her face.

“Really husband, this is something that you haven’t experienced before. You being a godling, your powers are more connected to your emotions than ours, are. You might want to remember that the next time you grow so angry. Though I have to ask, what grew your anger to such proportions?” Bast asked.

Ephus was quiet a moment as the memories started to flood back to him. “Do you remember how much of a pain in the ass Zeus was? How no matter what I did he refused to listen?” Bast nodded waiting to hear who she was going to blame for unhinging Ephus. “Odin was far worse, even after I brought his power up to half.”

“Worse? What happened?” Bast asked.

“He said I was weak, then tried to attack me, a mistake on his part. You know that I won’t help if those that asked me there refuse to listen, or even worse refuse any other help I am offering.” Ephus spit out. “It took Zeus actually coming to me, apologizing then promising to help, to get me back to that realm.”

“I see, should I gather the others, declare war? Takeover, rid the god realm of their presence?” Bast said a little bit of blood lust shining in her eyes.

Ephus did a double take, it seemed the further along she got in this pregnancy, the more violent she got.

“No Bast, I will wait to see if Odin, will make a move to get me back to help.” Ephus looked at Serket who was approaching. “Is she going to be like this throughout this pregnancy?”

“I am afraid it is a lot more than that. Ra, along with all our brother and sisters are holding council about the two that she is carrying. The last time two were born to a goddess, it had extremely bad results.” Serket said grimly.

“Bad results? What,” Ephus started, then his eyes went wide as Serket lightly touched his head. At first Ephus face had shock and horror, these though quickly twisted into anger. “They wouldn’t dare harm my children!” Ephus growled.

“Not outright, considering that it is you, I think they want to see just how they are. They have a piece of your humanness, far different than a full god. I believe they feel that these two will be far more than what the last few sets were.” Serket said a slight look of worry on her face.

“Husband, I also believe they feel that you might possibly lose control. This power you have, has touched a great deal of the gods of not one but now three god realms. It is highly unlikely they will act without consulting you. Besides,” Bast said a small look of anger on her face. “I don’t think they want to see my ire either.”

Ephus nodded as he looked at both of the pregnant goddesses in front of him. If they became as angry as he had been, there might not be anything left of the god realms.

Freya looked at Odin with disbelief on her face. “You want me to do what!?” Freya yelled still not believing the words that Odin had just uttered.

“Go where he is. demand he come back to Asgard. It should be simple for you, after all you are the goddess of love. Use your power to beguile him.” Odin said.

“You don’t realize what you are saying Lord Odin. He is a human/godling, much of his thinking is human. He came to help us of his own accord, you my Lord, angered him very much. If I do as you say it will drive him away. I also don’t think you realize; he is immune to almost ALL god power.”

“Then you still wish to pursue the afore mentioned course of action? I feel that I am unable to do this. What,” Odin started when Freya touched his head. A moment later Odin’s eyes flew wide. “He felt that dishonored? Never have I felt anyone warrior or otherwise feel this dishonored, especially by me or mine.”

“We have to amend this; I gave you the knowledge. The thing is can you do this after I put it to the terms I did?” Freya asked.

Odin nodded his head looking at the floor. “I have to, if we are to have any hope of saving Asgard.”

A small smile crossed Freya’s lips then was quickly gone. Perhaps she thought, we might stand a chance after all.

“I shall be back as soon as I can,” Freya said as she was about to vanish. She stopped when a hand grasped her arm.

“Mistress Freya, allow me to accompany you. Neither of us know what Midgar is like now, you may have need of my services.” The Valkyrie Göndul said. “Odin, has both my sister Valkyries here to aid him.

Freya thought about it a few moments then nodded. A wave of her arm, the both of then vanished.

Ephus had just sat to relax, trying his best to get his head around how Odin had reacted. He’d been back from Asgard for a few hours, he could still feel the realm, how weak it still was.

His power was now fully recharged so he was truly feeling almost normal, for him. He was, ‘til he felt two approaching powers, not especially huge, though strong enough to worry him.

A moment later Bast and Serket bristled, then there were two flashes. Two heavily armored, well-armed with wicked sword, females appeared.

Ephus sighed when he felt both Bast and Serket go to their full power. Taking a quick breath Ephus stood moving between the two sets of females. Shit he thought, this is a dangerous position to be in.

Ephus put a hand up in front both sets hoping it would help to calm the situation. “Hold Bast, Serket this is the Valkyrie Göndul,” indicating the Valkyrie. “I would have thought that you would recognized the goddess Freya.”

“When we feel a threat to you husband, it is difficult to think that straight. We almost lost you the last time. All your wives have pledged to not let that happen again. Both sets in both realms have promised that if you are harmed again, nothing will stop the war that will happen. All the brothers have also pledged to help, the war won’t last long though, it will be devastating to whomever did the harm.”

Ephus did a double take seeing the deadly serious look in both Serket and Bast’s eyes. The mere fact that the usually calm and shy Serket was talking with such force made this very serious.

“My dear wives, I do not intend to go into this without a lot more knowledge than the last two times. I also do not wish to face a situation, like I did last time.” Ephus shakily said.

Bast, walked up to Ephus, kissing him deeply and passionately. “You would do well to remember that husband, you. Nor does any realm want to see the full fury of Bast.” Here Bast looked at then intense look on Serket’s face. “I don’t think that, they would wish to face the fury of your wife Serket either.”

Ephus looked at Serket, then Bast, shaking slightly. He’d rather face the titans than go against one of his wives when they were furious.

“Do not attack, either of you, I have given my word to help. As the both of you know, I will give them another chance. You also know that I will only go so far, before I won’t help anymore. I did twice in your realm, I almost did three times in the Greek realm. This realm,” here Ephus shook his head, “if I can’t convince Odin then, I don’t know if they can be helped.”

Bast and Serket both nodded, their faces showed their anger though, because of Ephus they were holding back.

“We will do as you ask husband, know you this though, NOTHING, no-one will stop us. You are the most important being in any realm right now. We meant it when we said that, both realms will destroy this Asgard realm, if you are harmed.” Bast slightly growled.

Ephus turned to see both Freya and the Valkyrie Göndul, standing where they had arrived. Ephus started to walk to them, seeing Bast and Serket cross their arms over their chests, as they watched the new arrivals and Ephus closely.

Both females immediately went to a knee bowing to Ephus the closer he got. Out of the corner of his eye Ephus saw both of his wive’s nod with a smirk.

“Lord Ephus,” Freya started, “I have come to enter a plea to have you return to Asgard. I believe I have expressed to Odin what he did wrong. I also believe that, he now knows that you are the only hope our realm has.”

Ephus stretched his hand out to touch Freya’s head, seeing all that had transpired between the two. A smirk, quickly came to his lips. “I am not seeing this with the confidence that you are. I wouldn’t, want to waste my time going there just to have him try to attack me again.”

A grimace came to Freya’s face, “I do not think it would, I believe, I may have a solution for this. I have not been able to get through to Odin much, though, there is one who can. I am hesitant to suggest it though, the last I heard she also had been captured.”

Ephus was nodding, who he thought could have such influence over him. “I’m sure that she is nowhere as guarded as Odin was.”

“Do not be so sure, If I have thought of this, I am sure that Loki has also. Then again,” Freya said looking up momentarily at Ephus. “Loki is the only one that I feel would stand a chance against you. Especially if I and Göndul go with you.”

Ephus stood still trying to think of a reason for them not to go. Finally, shaking his head he decided that it would be a good idea, someone to watch his back was practical.

“Alright, you listen to me, if I tell you to go, go. I don’t want to be killed because I was arguing with you. Nor do I wish the same fate to befall the both of you, is this understood?” Ephus said sternly.

Both females nodded vigorously, both with wry miles on their faces.

Ephus could only shake his head at that. “Freya. please allow me to touch you. I can get us there far closer than I feel either of you will.”

A slight touch, then Ephus nodded to both females, a slight look to Bast had her nodding as Ephus group vanished.

It seemed only a moment had passed, before they appearing in what appeared to be a large, dimly lit room. There were several shouts with several dark skinned, beings appearing. Each had either a wicked double edge sword or spear.

A tall female with brown hair and golden earrings was chained to a wall nearby, though they could get no closer. Ephus concentrated a moment then watched with a smile as the female appeared next to his group.

“Queen Frigg, we are here with the halvgud Ephus.” Freya said as they took up positions beside Ephus.

It seemed as if a great multitude rushed at them. All three started to mow down the dark skinned, tall, pointed eared beings.

Ten minutes later there was a growing mound of dead and dying before them.

“I know that you two are enjoying this greatly, I think it is time to depart.” Ephus said as the mounting dead were taking up more and more room. It was actually getting difficult to move much in the large room now.

“It might be good for us to go; we have exacted a fair amount of retribution on the dark elves.” Freya said as decapitated three more in front of her. Looking to the the Valkyrie Göndul, then Frigg both nodded as they all four suddenly winked out.

Less than a few seconds later all four appeared in Freya’s home. The two Valkyries there, bristled then dropped to a knee when they saw not only Ephus, also Frigg.

Odin stood from the chair he’d been sitting in. Freya was whispering hurriedly in Frigg’s ear who was nodding her ascent.

Odin was walking rapidly to Frigg, who suddenly held her hand out to stop him. “My Queen?” Odin said, “what is wrong that you deny me?”

“I have been advised that the halvgud Ephus saved not only me, freed three of our Valkyries, has also saved, then repowered you. You attacked him after he used most of his energy. Here you expect me to welcome you after all this. I think that perhaps you are not Odin, my mate was not that foolish.” Frigg said with a scowl on her face.

Odin’s mouth dropped open as his head hung slightly in shame. “I realize what I have done wrong my mate. It was explained most heatedly by Freya.”

Frigg looked at Freya, then nodded her head. “I am glad that someone kept their sense while I was gone.” Here she turned toward Ephus, “I am elated that you have come to aid our realm, even if others are acting as if they aren’t.” Here Frigg turned her slightly icy stare on Odin.

A large smile crossed Ephus mouth, he remembered conversations not far from this from several of his wives.

“Queen Frigg? If I may?” Ephus said.

Frigg blinked as she looked at Ephus, then slowly nodded. Ephus placed a hand on Frigg’s shoulder. At first there was nothing, then her eyes opened wide, then her skin glowed. Finally, Frigg’s eyes glowed a moment then Ephus released her.

Frigg floated off the floor a huge smile on her face. “I haven’t felt this much power in a very long time.” Here all gasp as Frigg floated to the floor, then bowed to Ephus. “I can never repay you for what you have done.”

“I am only here to help, nothing more. I have a great many wives to worry about. I have no interest in ruling or controlling.

“I believe it is time for a great many, to reassess our actions. Do you not feel the same my mate?” Frigg said to Odin.

Odin nodded his head then walked to Ephus. “I had thought you were going to take the Asgard realm. It wasn’t ‘til later that I realize that you had no interest in our realm. I can only ask that you forgive the hasty actions of a worried ruler.”

Ephus looked at the females in the room, Frigg and Freya were smiling, Göndul was smirking, the other two Valkyries were staring their mouths agape.

He then turned to stare at Odin. A smirk again crossing his lips. A shake of his head had Odin’s mouth dropping open. “If I am going to help all of you, if what you said is true? Why do you feel the need to lie or hide something from me?”

A heavy sigh escaped Odin’s mouth even as Frigg was starting daggers at him. “I again am at a loss, this trust that Freya told me of is a very foreign thing. You might have noticed that I am not at full power.”

“I was wondering that, you’re the first I haven’t been able to fully power.” Ephus said.

“With what you have given me Loki can no longer take over the realm. Still as long as I am without my weapon, Gungnir, I am at a loss with only half my power. If I had it, Loki, might not have gotten as much control as he does.” Odin said.

Ephus could only shake his head, it figures he thought. Here he thought, freeing the leaders of the realm would have done the trick. Now, he had to recover a source or rather the other half of the leaders power.

Almost afraid to ask Ephus said, “ok just where is it?”

“I knew that I was going to be taken, so I sent it away. You see without it, no-one can rule Asgard, well, not all of it.” Here Odin smiled wryly.

Ok Ephus thought, why am I getting a bad feeling about this? “Ok, so you sent it away, where?”

“I sent it to the one place that Loki would never find it. A place that is so confusing,” Odin was saying.

“WHERE!” Ephus shouted feeling frustrated.

“Why you,” Odin stopped realizing who he was talking to AND what happened the last time he got mad at Ephus.

“I sent it to Midgar, it’s the one place I knew that Loki could never find it. The only problem is that the longer I and Gungnir are apart, the easier it is for Loki to gain control.” Odin said.

“What? I thought he was in control when I saw him.” Ephus said.

“Of certain things yes, most of this realm though not yet. Though I am afraid that the control is starting to slip a little more each day.” Returned Odin.

Ephus sighed, then sat to think. “Do you happen to know where you sent it?”

“No, I am afraid not. Though I had sent it to the that land where you live. I believe you call it North America?” Odin asked.

“Yeah,” Ephus said as he tried to think through what he’d need to do. “Ok I need to touch you to feel what this weapon’s energy feels like.”

Odin nodded as Ephus touched Odin’s head, hmmm Ephus thought powerful. The he saw what it looked like, then the energy signature he would need to touch it. “Alright, I think I have it.” Ephus released his touch on Odin, then turned to Frigg.

“Queen Frigg, I would feel better if you and Odin have more protection here.” Ephus said.

“What do you propose?” Frigg asked.

“Please all step back,” Ephus said as he concentrated. A moment later a tall redheaded female appeared. Just as suddenly beside her another tall blond female appeared both with swords and wings.

Both females drew there double edged, long swords when they saw all that were in the room.

“So, I see that the three of you have betrayed Lord,” the red head started.

“Save it lady, heard already a few times starts to get boring.” Ephus said as he removed his sun glasses.

Both females turned to glare at Ephus then both gasp as they both physically started to shake.

Don’t you dare give in! Bah the whole lot of you are completely worthless. Much like the dark elves, that I had guarding mother. Loki’s voice said.
